We had a very light SSW wind this morning, which was making the ocean along Cape Naturaliste side very calm. This wind, coupled with the partly cloudy skys made for some super clear water, and it was a bonus to have some little waves to surf! I always enjoy taking my water housing out, I don't seem to get it out enough, I will have to make of an effort to use it more.

I haven't had a chance to get down to photograph today, so I have shown some images I took a while back with Isaac Kara, Tim Dodd and a grom. The swell has just started to rise today, so hopefully there will be some fun waves around tomorrow morning.

We finally had a break in the bad weather today, and the sun started shining between the passing clouds. Although the cape nat swell buoy was reading 3.55m this morning, there wasn't many waves on offer with the SW wind. None the less, what waves there were looked really fun!

The local wildlife came out to play this morning, and it was amazing to say the least! The offshore breeze was really strong, and the swell had dropped since yesterday, so I made my way down to where the two capes meet as there is always a hive of activity there, especially this time of the year.I was lucky enough to witness a pod of dolphins and a seal surfing the perfect, uncrowded waves.

We have the most amazing sundown's here in the South West, and I always feel so blessed photographing them. These photos were taken the other day during a spectacular winters afternoon / morning. I am getting down to the beach this afternoon to hopefully get some shots of the waves and the sunset. We have some great conditions today with perfect offshore winds and the swell just under 2m.

What a day to kick off the week, with perfect weather and plenty of waves around the coast. I made my way down to one of my favourite beaches this morning, as I did not have much time to photograph and this particular beach is close to home. There is still heaps of people surfing with school holidays in full swing, I opted to shoot some empty waves to try and escape from the crowds.

This morning was magical down at Meelup Bay. There was an amazing sunrise, no wind and glassy conditions which made taking photographs very enjoyable in the early hours. I love the challenge of trying to get unique perspectives in my images to make the photo more visually appealing.

The powerful Indian Ocean surrounds Western Australia with it's enriching saltwater and famous waves. I feel so blessed to have such a giving ocean right on my doorstep, and I am always in awe at its peril and beauty. As I did not get a chance to photograph this morning, here are some more images from last week of the tail end from the "swell of the decade".
Please also check out my highlight images from June on Margaret River Style. I am excited to announce that this is going to be a monthly feature with photographs of mine that highlight the South West through each month!

I finally recovered the lost images from my CF card from the following days after the big swell. I completely forgot just how many images I captured, so I have been frantically sorting through them all, getting them ready for the daily emails. The images featured were from Margaret River, Ellensbrook and Sugarloaf Rock during some amazing conditions!
Just so all you know, where my current exhibition is at the newly renovated Artezen Cafe is now open for dinner and is serving amazing alcoholic beverages! If you get a chance you have to try out the new dinner menu, and check out my images while your'e there!
